Parents

Parents

We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. Therefore, all OLPH parents are members of the Parent Association and Room Parent Organization.

Parents are required to give a minimum of 50 hours (25 hours for a single parent family) of service throughout the school year. Twelve hours will be served at the annual fall carnival.

The remaining 38 hours (13 hours for a single parent) may be served in the following ways: (this is an abbreviated list of service opportunities)

  • Service to the School – yard duty, lunch supervision, office assistance, development assistance, coordinate an event such as the book fair or one of our 3 annual fundraisers, assist with a fundraising event, coach a sports team, moderate a club, set up for a school event such as the Promotion Ceremony
  • Service to the Church – clean the church, teach religious education classes, serve on a parish committee
  • Service to the Classroom – serve as a lead room parent, assist the teacher upon request, supervise on a field trip, assist during a classroom party

As parents work in partnership with OLPH school a sense of community and family is developed. Parent volunteers are invaluable on the OLPH campus. When OLPH parents work side by side a stronger community is built for the children. Through parental example, our students learn the value of service.

Teach your children right from wrong, and when they are grown, they will still do right. ~ Proverbs 22:6
