Happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas full of surprises and hope in the birth of Jesus.   May this gift of a new year and family and friends with which to share it, be one of peace for you and the entire world!

On Sunday, January 8th the church will celebrate the Solemnity of the Epiphany.  Epiphany is the celebration of Christ revealing himself to the world.  The second chapter of the Gospel of Matthew tells us about the Magi who traveled from the east and offered the Lord their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.  This day is often called little Christmas, and in many European cultures, it is the traditional day for gift giving. Our first graders will prepare our Epiphany Word Service, which will be held next Thursday, January 12th  at 2:00 p.m. in the hall.  This is a Dress Uniform day for all students. Our first grade Grandparent’s Day will also be held on this date. It will begin at 1:00 pm in the hall.   All parents are invited to attend.
