Whoever wishes to be my follower must deny his very self, take up his cross each day, and follow in my steps. Luke 9:23
Today we celebrated mass together as a school for Ash Wednesday. Lent is an opportunity for everyone to reflect and prepare our hearts for change. In second grade one of our Lenten Promises is to write in our Lenten Journals daily during religion class. We have also decided as a class to really improve on our manners towards one another during Lent.
Yesterday we baked cookies for the homeless, donated blankets to the homeless, and entertained Rotarians of Downey by sharing our voices with them. The second grade sang “We Belong to You” and “America the Beautiful”. Everyone did a great job! Through our song, our prayer and our service, we are truly disciples of Jesus.
Thank you for your support and example to your children!
Blessings,
Miss Kraivanger
