Speech Contest

Our classroom competitions for the Speech Contest will begin on February 18th, 2010. The students have been reciting their poems to one another in small group and practicing with their teachers as well. Be sure to review the rubric for the contest, as memorization is just one important part. This week we will begin to encourage the students to project their voices, create ideas for props and gestures as well. Remember, besides being a friendly competition, the speech contest is a graded assignment(s) that counts for part of their language arts grade in the second tri-mester. Thank you for your assistance. The poem selections are great, and we are all looking forward to hearing each others in a few weeks.
